Essential Classic Movies You Need to See

I'm Titania, a 21 year old film student from Toronto with a passion for Classical Hollywood Cinema. Sometimes I get the feeling that Old Hollywood is losing popularity with my generation, but I know that most people my age would discover some films they would really like - if they had the right advice.

If you like Classic Hollywood eye candy and you're curious about classic movies - ones made before 1960 or black and white - but don't know where to start, read on! Hopefully you'll discover some gems you didn't know existed, with a stamp of approval from someone like you. It's a little more reliable than the opinions of your grandparents.

TIME: Top 10 Memorable Movie Eating Scenes

I, for one, am scandalized that spaghetti scene from Lady and the Tramp (1955) didn’t make this list! But it is redeemed by the inclusion of The Gold Rush (1925) - not the “roll dance” scene though - and the skillful chopping of a clove of garlic with a razor blade in Goodfellas (1990). Great list on an interesting topic, TIME!
