I just bought tickets to Swan Lake!
The Miriinsky (Kirov) Ballet is coming to Toronto in March and I just bought tickets to see it!!
I’ve never seen it before, so I’m really excited. Buying tickets online SUCKS though. They’re in the balcony on the really far right, so I’m just hoping I can see the stage. At least the music will be beautiful!

My parents bought me the 2011 TCM DVD Catalogue! 780 pages of movies that I could order at any moment! I’m just flipping through the Musical section now and am freaking out at all of the great things I haven’t seen yet!
I remembered that someone, I think it was hwentworth, told me to watch I Love Melvin (1953), with Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Connor, and it’s here in...

This was emailed to me by my Grandma, one of my favorite people to chat with about Classic Hollywood:
ELEANOR POWELL was just too good.
FRED ASTAIRE never elected to be paired with her again.
He later said it was not to his benefit, she was just too great, but they
were both great.

This review for The King’s Speech is coming along, I’m watching the movie while I edit it, hoping something brilliant pops out at me. It’s due tomorrow, but I’ll be posting it in a couple of days!

The biggest problem with 3D, though, is the “convergence/focus” issue. A couple...
– Why 3D doesn’t work and never will. Case closed. - Roger Ebert’s Journal
I don’t think this “closes the case” as Ebert says, but it is a very interesting and well thought out argument against 3D written by the great Walter Murch. (via legrand)

I’m writing a review of The King’s Speech right now for class, can someone please remind me that I’m decent at writing reviews of films? Or at least give me faith that I can write a great intro and cut this thing down to 500 words?

I’m a little embarassed I didn’t know that Claude Rains was in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. It’s only one of his most famous roles according to IMDb… Whoops.
bigdavedavenport-deactivated201 asked: You should see You Can't Take it With You if you haven't! It's another great Capra/Stewart film.

I had no idea that Jimmy Stewart and Frank Capra did this movie together too, obviously I have more research to do.
I’ve heard great things, so I’m really looking forward to it!

Can’t wait for your post on this movie. I didn’t get to see the whole thing, Stopped at this scene. Love your blog. I am also a film student! :)
Thank you so much! <3
